Police Department

The mission of the Connell Police Department is to enhance security, safety and service to the community at large. Police Chief Mike Kessler continues to administer a "community oriented" police department.  The goal is to create a partnership between law enforcement and the community, and to promote an excellent quality of life for all citizens in Connell.

Community Programs

• DARE Program
• Bicycle Safety
• Sexual Assault Center
• Reserve Police Officer Program

DARE Program

Sgt Brad Quinton administers the DARE program which is taught to the sixth graders at Connell Elementary School each spring.

Police Reserve Program

The Reserve Police Program is made up of community members who have a desire to give back to the community.  Reserves must attend and complete the Reserve Training Academy.  The Academy is usually conducted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office from January to June each year.  Applications to join the police reserves are available at the police department.  Applicants must pass a background, psychological, and polygraph exam.

Police Department Functions

ADMINISTRATION oversees the general operation of the Police Department and is responsible for planning and research, program development, public relations, recruitment of officers, and finance and budgeting for the department. The Administration Section is also responsible for the maintenance of all department records and reports and training.

The PATROL DIVISION is responsible for all field operations and community programs. Field Operations include Patrol/Investigations and Animal Control. Community Programs include D.A.R.E. (Drug & Alcohol Resistance Education), Bicycle Safety and Reserves.
