Police Department
The
Connell Police Department goal is to enhance security and service
to the community at large. Police Chief Rick Rochleau continues
to administer a "community oriented" police department,
to create a partnership between law enforcement and the community,
and to promote an excellent quality of life for all the citizens
in Connell. Our Community Oriented Policing Strategy combines
formal, community oriented policing programs and police services
provided to the public.
Community Programs
A
number of community oriented programs have been established over
the years that have proven to be very successful in providing
our youth and the community at large with a positive and reinforced
atmosphere for safety, growth, and development. They are:

Applications
are available to join the police reserves for those interested
in giving back to the community through this public service program.
Police
Department Functions
ADMINISTRATION
oversees the operating divisions and conducts planning and research,
program development, public relations, recruitment of officers,
and finance and budgeting for the department.
The
OPERATIONS DIVISION is responsible for all field operations
and
community programs. Field Operations include Patrol, Reserves,
Drug Task Force Liaison, and Animal Control. Community Programs
include D.A.R.E., Block Watch, Bicycle Patrol, Night Court,
and Explorers.
The
SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION is responsible for records, communications,
and training. Records includes all Departmental Records, Public
Services, Statistics, Permits, and Public Information. Communications
includes 911 services. Training includes the training of the
Police Officers and other staff.
