Murals
Connell resident artists have graced the town with a visual feast
of wall murals, including:
Mei Ling’s Dragon
This mural, which is the work of the Connell
High School Art Club, adorns the south wall of Mei Ling's Family
Restaurant located at 627 South Columbia. [Click

Where the Wild Things Are
A project of the Mid-Columbia Library District,
this mural resides on the north side of the Sunset Theatre in
the courtyard behind the Connell Branch Library. Based on the
critically acclaimed children’s book of the same name,
this mural was painted in October 2001 by Bethann Wood, with
a great deal of help from a talented group of local children.

The Connell Cloudburst
A project of the Downtown Development Group,
this mural is based on an historic 1907 photograph of a flood
that occurred that August. Mural artist Pat Boyer and assistant
Laura Benefiel completed work on the project, with assistance
from correction center residents, in September 2005.

Harvest History
Also a project of the Downtown Development Group,
this mural was inspired by a 1928 photograph provided by Feathers
Thompson and depicting a large team of draft horses hitched
to an early harvester. It was designed and painted by mural
artist Pat Boyer and completed in September 2006.

Two New Murals were recently painted!
Also a project of the Downtown Development Group,
these new murals were inspired by photographs provided by local residents Dale Jones and Ted Tschirky. On the old hardware store building Pat Boyer
painted "Potato Harvest," and over at the Ed Poe Agency
she's completed "The Homesteader."
