MEETING OF THE CITY OF CONNELL , WASHINGTON
CONNELL, FRANKLIN COUNTY , WASHINGTON

January 16, 2006

The Workshop Meeting, of the City Council of the City of Connell , was called to order at 6:02 pm in the City Hall.

ROLL CALL

PRESENT:       Mayor Gary Walton , Mayor Pro Tem Ron Boyer, Councilmembers Jim Klindworth, Monica Pruett, Rhonda Quinton and Kent Mosbrucker.

STAFF:            City Administrator Art Tackett.  

ORDER OF BUSINESS

PROPERTY DISPOSAL

            City Administrator Tackett reviewed a landownership map with Council.  The map showed who owned what property around the city limits.  The City was surrounded by two or three major land owners which made it difficult for housing development.

            Council discussed property in and surrounding Connell.

City Administrator Tackett inquired if Council was interested in auctioning off City owned property. This had been done by the County.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

            City Administrator Tackett provided handouts on strategic planning and asked Council what their goals and priorities were for 2006. 

            Councilmembers provided the following goals and priorities:

1.                  Prison Expansion – Impact funds

2.                  Housing

Riddell Development – (Review of contract)

Pioneer Park Apartments – Expansion

Manufactured Homes

3.                  Repair of Streets and Alleys

4.                  Coulee Cleanup Cost

5.                  Railroad Horn

6.                  Benefit Package of City Employees

7.                  Small Communities Working Together  

MEETING ADJOURNED

There being no further business to be heard before the City Council, Mayor Walton adjourned the meeting at 7:40 pm .
