Building Permits—Are
you thinking of adding on to your home? Perhaps you would like to build
a shop, or install new windows? If so, you may need a building permit.
Be sure to check with City Hall before you begin your project to ensure
that you are in compliance with municipal code.
Burn
Permits—Are
you unsure about what to do with debris from yard clean up? Stop by
the City Hall and pick up an Outdoor Burning Permit. There is no charge
for the permit, and it is illegal to burn without one.
Senior/Disability
Discount Program—Did
you know that the City offers a discount for residential water and sewer
bills? To qualify, applicants must be 62 years of age or older, or disabled.
The discount is based on total annual household income. For more information,
contact City Hall.
Dog
Licenses—If
you own a dog and live inside the Connell city limits, you are required
to license your pet. There is a nominal charge of $7.50 (for an unaltered
dog) or $5.00 (for an altered dog). Senior Citizens pay $.50 for the
first dog, and regular fees apply thereafter.
Business
License—Any
person who sells goods or services and/or solicits business is required
to have a business license for the City of Connell. If you plan to start
your own business, be sure to contact City Hall for business license
requirements.
Utility
services: Water/Sewer/Sanitation and Electricity—If
you are moving into or out of an address in town, you may need to contact
the City regarding your water utility bill. Residents are not allowed
to turn water on or off. Please contact the Public Works Department
at City Hall for more information.
To arrange
to have electricity turned on or off, you may contact City Hall or the
Franklin County PUD directly at 1-800-638-7701.
Fingerprints—Do
you need to have your fingerprints taken, or would like to have your
child's fingerprints taken for safekeeping? The Connell Police Department
provides this service for a nominal fee of $ 2.50 per card. Call 234-4141
for more information.
